Jamie Vardy

Jamie Vardy is a 25 year old english football player who plays for Leicester City having signed for them in the summer from non-league team Fleetwood Town for around £1m (which is a non-league record). I wasn't to shore why they did this, he wasn't playing in a league and Leicester were willing to pay £1m for him to jump from non-league to the championship. When I first heard that he had signed I was a bit unsure about it as he needed to prove that he can play at this level. Vardy scored on his debut for Leicester and now has 2 goals in 7 games in the league. Vardy is starting to make the first team selection and I think he will become a first team regular, he is hard working and shows a lot of promise, and I think that he could play a key part in Leicester bid to get back into the Prem.

Leicester's key players

Now that Leicester have a bit of money they are trying to sign some players that will hopefully take us up, here are the players that will be key for City this season.
Kasper Schmeichel will be one of the key players for Leicester this season. Scmeichel is a Danish goalkeeper who is the son of Peter Scheichel. Kasper is a great goalkeeper and last season won Leicester's player of the year award, during the summer some big premiership teams, this shows that he is a great goalkeeper. He will be key for Leicester this season as if a is on top form we will have a better chance of reaching the prem.
Another key player for Leicester this season will be Wes Morgan, he has been handed the captains armband for this season so he will be leading the foxes to promotion. He is a powerful organiser at the start of the City defence and the opposition will have to do a lot to get round him. I think that he is a great player to have in the team as he is there to get the team out of trouble and he is a hard worker, he is the perfect man to have as a captain.
The last player that will be key for Leicetser this season is David Nugent, he was last seasons top goal scorer and he looks like he is on his way to doing that again, after scoring his first career hat-trick agianst Hull. Nugent is a great striker and is known for his great work rate and eye for goal, he will be the man leading the foxes frontline this season, so he will be the one to put away the chances that the team creates. He is a great asset to any team and will always give his all, so if he can carry on his recent form Leicester will be in for a good season.

Ones to watch

I think in the Championship there are some really talented players and hear are the ones to watch out for.
Tom Ince is a 20 year old English player who plays is club football for Blackpool, I think that he will be massive for Blackpool this season and he will be very interesting to watch as as well. He is a very talented young left-footed player, and he is the son of Paul Ince. Ince has already scored 6 goals in seven games, along with them goals he has managed to get 6 assists, he is in really good form and could prove influential in Blackppols bid to get promoted.
Another player to watch is Jordan Rhodes, Rhodes joined Blackburn in the summer for a record fee of up to £8m from Huddersfield. Last season Rhodes won player of the season and top goal scorer with 36 goals in the league. This season he has scored 5 goals in 6 appearences for the club. Rhodes is an all round striker and I think that he will be scoring a lot of goals this season for Blackburn, like Ince if Rhodes plays well all season he will be the one to help Blackburn push for promotion back to the premier league.

Prediction for the season

I think that this season Leicester have a good group of players that all want to fight to get into the prem. I think that we have the potential to do this as the players that we do have are very talented and I think that we have a good mix of young and experienced players. I think that Pearson is the right man to take us up to the prem, he has proved that he can lead this team before when bringning them from league one to the championship play-offs in two seasons. I think that there are some other good teams in the league that will also be looking for that promotion such as Bolton, Blackpool and Cardiff, but I think that we have a good chance this season and if we improve our away performances I think that we could finish well.

Next up

Next up for the foxes is Middlesborough away in the npower championship, this is game will be played at 3.00pm on Saturday the 29th of September, I think that this is going to be a close game, they are next to each other in the table and only by goal difference. I think that Middlesborough will fancy them selves to take this one as they are the home team and Leicester havn't had much luck away from home, but I think that Leicester can pull it out of the bag and take all 3 points. They are in good form at the minute and with Nugent bagging his first career hat-trick and netting his 100th career goal I think he will be the one to guide us to that win that we need to pick our away form up. I predict a 1-2 win for the foxes with Nugent and Vardy getting the goals for Leicester.

Pearson wants improvement

Leicester City's manager Nigel Person has erged his team to push to improve their away form. The foxes have only managed to get 12 points from 7 games after a difficult start to the season, Pearson said "We could have picked up a few more points more points, but are performances in general have been very good". Away from home I think that Leicester have been unfortunate and a bit careless and they need the consistancy, but I think that they can put that all right this weekend when they travel to Middlesborough on Saturday.

LCFC game review

On Sunday the 23rd of September Leicester City took on Hull City at the King Power Stadium. The foxes striker David Nugent bagged his maiden hat-trick, to maintain their 100% home record. This helped them to win by 3 goals to 1 against the Tigers. The frontman strook early in the first half, in the 7th minute with a cool left-footed strike. Jay simpson then equalised for the visitors but Nugent headed Leicester back in front, he then finished his treble with his right foot claiming a 'perfect' hat-trick in the 90th minute. This helped Nigel Pearson's side a fourth win in four at the King Power Stadium.
